Went out this morning...really cold. Put the last few parts on the 820 flex head and then plugged the heater in while I had some lunch. Out again in the afternoon and took the last few beans off the field. There is 2-3" of powdery snow but not much went in the combine and all of that went out the back. More snow tomorrow and when it finally gets around to melting this part of the field will not be accessible until May. Not really worth the effort today. Starting at the back of the field and moving toward the buildings more than half the field was stripped clean of beans by the deer. Nothing but stems. So I am done!!!
Well...as done as it gets. I have an order for a load of oats that I need to put together. Need to shift the corn in the truck into a gravity box so I can get the few beans I have up to the elevator. And then, of course, it's tax season..........but the important part is there is no more crop outside!
