I'm having a terrible time getting a correct mechanical fuel pump for my 35 Chevy 1 1/2 ton. The later ones bolt up and work but not for long. I think the throw on the cam is too long and stresses the diaphragm too much. They also have too long of a flange and cause a pretty good oil leak.
I've decided to put an electric fuel pump in it. It is six volt. Does anyone have a part number for a good one I could give Napa? I'd rather avoid diaphragm pumps if I could and need it to be low volume. I hesitate to go electric, but I did buy a high quality rotary one for the chore pickup and it has been trouble free for many years. It wasn't cheap but it has been well worth its money. That's what I am looking for.
