My computer at work had a "hard crash" when the power went out. Corrupted the operating system, cost $150 (and 3 days) to fix. Luckily I had Carbonite, so didn't lose any data. But still a PITA.
Was looking at battery backup systems on Amazon. One popular model is about 80 bucks, and there were a bunch of them on Amazon. But there were four at between 6 and 10 dollars, with "free shipping" (the shipping alone on the legitimate offers was over $11- they're heavy!). And of course, in the "seller profile" area, all 4 said "just launched"- no stars, no history, no nothing.
Doesn't Amazon have a way to monitor obviously phony offers and get rid of them?
