Hi Calgary, my guess is that it is the teeth on the pressure plate that drive the PTO shaft. Here is a test, with your snow blower attached and PTO engage rev engine to about 1800 RPM with foot throttle and then quickly release the foot throttle and listen for a rattling noise by clutch housing.
See link to photo of 584 like pressure plate, the PTO shaft goes into the drive teeth in the center of the pressure plate and the teeth are a softer material than the PTO shaft and the teeth wear and cause a rattling noise when PTO is running an implement.
