When our girls were young, about elementery school age, a boy gave one of our girls a statuette of a dog by a fireplug. It was NOT appreciated. One Christmas time, a younger daughter, having no money to go shopping, wrapped up the dog as a present, and gave it to a family member. It has become a tradition, the reciever keeps the dog on display in their home the whole year, and passes it on the next Christmas. That little dog has a lot of miles on it, even to foreign countries!
