Hunting in AZ is a waste of time. We have the draw system for an early hunt and a late hunt. There are permits for mulies and Coes white tail.( Buck only. No doe hunts in about 30 years.)One or the other depending on what you draw. You can apply for up to 4 hunts. I got my 4th choice for the 2nd hunt, mulie. In my draw hunt area there were 400 permits for the first hunt and 400 for the 2nd hunt. I scouted hard and saw one doe in one spot and 4 does in another. My hunt started last Friday and I have seen absolutely nothing after covering many, many miles on foot. Today I saw about 9 does and yearling does about 2 miles from my house. Hunt success rates are very low. I will probably never hunt AZ again. I will hunt in New Mexico with friends where success is almost guaranteed.
