I use my gas tractors here on the farm - some pretty hard. When my chainsaw fuel isn't fresh I dump it in the Farmall M. I don't notice that it does anything but she runs pretty hard on the grinder every week so she doesn't carbon up or have a chance to let fuel get old. Growing up (when we used leaded fuel) our mechanic always told us to use the oil can to fuel the engine on the auger. It was one of those huge old Briggs engines. He always said those few tablespoons of oil mixed in with the gas were good for it. She never did fail to start. When leaded gas became obsolete I was driving a vw bug. I put a pint of ATF in with each fillup. I don't know if it did anything but it made me feel better.
