I was on my way to work in south Minneapolis this morning. Got to the street I needed to turn on and it was blocked off so I had to go around. I could see the big hydraulic crane parked in the street so I got out of the pickup and walked up the alley to see what they were doing. Big silver Maple. Must have been 5' plus at the stump was being taken down. They were reaching over the top of the house and taking it out a piece at a time. Not much room between all the power lines, houses and garages there so this was the only way to take it out. Must have been a hundred feet of stick on the crane. I didn't stay long. Just had a look and snapped a photo then was on my way. I wonder what it cost. Bet you it wasn't cheap. Hard to see behind the brush but there is a guy in the bucket of the boom truck. Gives you some sense of scale on the size of the tree.
