Your 3400, for all intents and purposes, is a 3000 with a heavier, non adjustable front axle. Same engines, chassis, rear end, 3 point, etc. And yes, except for front axle parts ask for things for a 3000 as many parts suppliers don't know what a 3400 is. That said, as much as I love YT and support them by buying all my parts from here I would go to Napa and buy Blue Streak or Echlin points. A lot of points found at farm stores and online sellers are cheap and the rubbing block wears off or the contacts pit quickly. I would buy the parts individually- points, condenser, cap, rotor. Not a kit. You'll pay more but get good quality that lasts for years. Those 3 cylinder gassers are a pia to put points in anyway. Get the right spark plug wires for it too with the correct boot that covers the hole to prevent junk from getting in the hole. Don't buy generic wires for it.
