That's a neat idea Geo. I have one of the original DR leafers that looks almost identical to yours. So I had that problem too. Nice thing about your design is that what leaves that are left aren't packed and if you tilt the box they will mostly all fall out. I had a yard rake at the compost pile to pull them out in years past and yes it was the biggest pain in operating the vacuum.
This year I bought one of their canvas topped ones that are a lot easier to dump and are made to run behind a ZT. I bought the smallest one they make to get around the yard better. Plan is to setup a dump site, dump the small one in a pile, use the hammermill on the original one to suck up the pile and dump it in my JD "poop" spreader and take that out to my hay patch and spread it out. Ought to work real well.
