My biggest problem was always avoiding expansion. Turning down land that was offered for rent,selling heifers,etc. I tried to do too much in the early 80s when the whole farm economy collapsed and I almost lost my shirt. At least I found out where all the good land was around here and managed to buy some of it and hang on to the rest to rent. I'm just one guy and there are only so many hours in the day. There's a definite tipping point between farming too much and too little. Both labor wise and profit wise.
