I have a 1220 that will not start if the engine is cold even in hot weather without turning the ignition key to the left for a few seconds to allow the glow plugs to heat up. Don't use any ether if your glow plugs are working. Check for a rat nest in the air cleaner. They like to build in the rubber hose that goes to the air cleaner. There is a small fuel filter in the fuel shut off valve underneath the fuel tank. There are a couple bleeder screws on the injector pump. Mine has 1900 hours on it and never a problem..
