If the goal is to kill everything - roundup will do it. If the goal is to kill broad leaf weeds and some woody stuff, i.e. autumn olive - leave the grass living, 2,4-d will do a good job.
I believe LV 400 is an ester 2,4-d - so not sure what mixing with a labeled 2,4-d ester would gain.
Keep in mind that the ester variant of 2,4-d is very volatile. I've read labels that say not to use it above 60 degrees F. You may experience drift and find yourself in heap of trouble with the neighbors and their gardens, plants, etc. If there is a vineyard nearby, planning on being sued....
Consider the amine version of 2,4-d as it is less volitle. Don't know the max temperature, but it can be applied in the summer.
Surfacant: I use whatever tractor supply sells. I can't remember the name. I guess it works.
Read as much as you can regarding spraying, droplet size, correct nozzles and pressure for our sprayer. There is much liability in spraying any herbicide - don't take that responsibility lightly.
