Looking to replace a key in one of the gears on a New Idea corn picker. The original is gone. It appears to be just a 1/4" square key about 2" long. I looked it up in the parts book and they describe it as a "No. 27 Hi Pro key, (HP 1708 B) 1/4" thick x 1 15/16" long".
What does all that mean? Is there something special about it, like maybe hardened or something? My Agco dealer had no idea. Before I just put regular key stock in it I thought I'd check to see if anyone else was familiar with this term. Thanks!
