So, the field was planted in early June and the grasses are ~2' tall. Looks way to similar to Johnson Grass but not. Farmer told me what he planted, but I failed to write it down. It's related to sugar cane. He said it was "suc..." I can't recall. I do remember he said it needed to be 24" tall to harvest.
Please, please have pity on me and educate me on what's growing in the south field. Sorry but no pictures at the moment. Interweb searches are a dry hole so far.
