I dislocated my left shoulder about 20 years ago. It took surgery where the doc installed pins and sutures. Was goo until a couple years ago when I would experience some pain lasting several weeks at a time. Had some pain from last September until in December I had a shot of cortisone. All was fine until the last week in April when I was hit with debilitating pain. By the time I saw the doctor and had an MRI it was getting better. After a few more test I am now scheduled for orthoscopic surgery on 8/26. Going to remove a bone spur that is causing problems with a tendon and possibly other things. At this point I've been told that I will have to have the shoulder immobile for at least four days and possibly six weeks. Recovery times from six weeks to two years. I'm sure hoping for six weeks but I sure don't want to go through the pain I had in April another time.
