I've owned two 5540's, the old one didn't have holes for pins, the newer one did. My old manual said to raise the tail gate and take two 2x4's and place four inch way up between the press roll frame and it's stops in the front of the baler. then close the gate and belts will loosen. I used 2x4's long enough to lay on the front sheet metal to help hold them in place and slid them between the outside belts and baler sides on top of the stops.
Make sure they are against the sides and on top of the stops good or they can pop out dropping the press rolls retightening the belts while your working on them causing personal injury.
I gave my old manuals to the guy that bought my last 5540.
