Thanks for all the input. I'm in the process of setting the slopes up as part of a horse pasture so I've just been brush hogging them to keep the weeds down for now. As far as the stall, I attribute it to a partially clogged fuel line - the engine was not bogged down. Luckily I immediately jack-knifed the mower so I did not pick up enough speed to roll. I usually go side-to-side without a problem but there are a few areas where I need to go vertically. I understand that there is no fully safe option but I'd at least like to reduce the risk. The brakes on the JD won't even hold long enough to get into park. So I was just wondering if wet discs should be avoided at all costs or if some tractors have independent hydraulic braking systems. For now I'm mainly searching for mechanical disc brakes. -Kyle
