I have a John Deere tie rod cylinder # TY7177 which is a 3 1/2 bore by 8 inch stroke. Had it on a rotary hoe cart early last week and the connecting pin came out (had it pinned in properly) putting all of the load on one side of the yoke. Broke one side off due to side pressure I suppose. This is the yoke at the back of the cylinder with the "O" ring that fits into the cylinder. Deere wants $70 for a new end. I paid $50 for two of these cylinders at a sale. I was wondering if John Deere had another company manufacture these cylinders, if they were still made today, and if I could source the end from the original manufacture. These cylinders were also used on other John Deere equipment such as disks to raise wings, etc. I could try welding the side back on, but would rather have it sturdy and safe. Thanks for any input.
