I have had problems healing shins for years and have ended up in hospital a number of times. I am a controlled diabetic and still have problems. I am healing one now that a branch got me and its my fault for not wearing my chainsaw chaps. If I get on antibiotics right away and keep it clean and elevated I can get it healed in two weeks and if I don't do that it can be up to months or a hospital stay. I also have good results putting Silver Sulfadiazine cream or Altabax on wound. I don't use Altabax very often its a $1,000.00 for 30 gram tub and I still have to pay several hundred dollars after insurance. My shins are so beat up that they look like a war zone.
