I'd pull the valve cover and give it a looksey as the others said it could be a valve train issue that could be solved for minimal cost and not that much time. Even if it is a burnt valve pulling the head (if you have the time & talent to do so) and having an automotive machine shop re work it would probably almost be a break even proposition for parts and outside labor verses selling it as a 5 cylinder special.
