I'm looking at replacing the tires on a 18ft flat bed trailer. What I'm looking at are 7.00 15, load range E, bias ply tires.
I see the choices are ST trailer only tires, or LT light truck tires.
From what I read, the trailer only tires are stiffer construction, and are a few dollars cheaper.
The LT tires are rated for truck or trailer use.
This trailer get moderate use, rarely loaded to max weight, mostly high speed freeway use, stored outside so the tires typically rot before wearing out.
Is there any advantage or disadvantage to the trailer rated tires? Are they made to the same standards? I'm not concerned so much about the small cost difference, would rather have something reliable, safe, and long lasting.
