It's a cheap 100R2 hose probably from China or India. It performs it's intended task and has to meet minimum performance standards for impulse, burst, proof, oil and ozone resistance, change in length, etc. The cover may not last as long as name brand and won't bend as tight as a 100R16 or 100R17 from Gates or Parker. You'd be hard pressed to find a Gates hose made at Napa or Motion Industries that costs less in that size and pressure rating. The retail price of the couplings and hose is more than that whole assembly costs, doesn't include the time for the guy measuring, finding the right hose and couplings, cutting hose, setting crimper dies and actually crimping the ends on.
