They run like crap on the new formulas of gas. Constant carburetor issues. Fouling spark plugs. Will not take throttle and if you richen them up to take throttle then they plugs will foul in a short time. Many will not start when shut off hot. Just an all around PIA to fool with.
It is the new generation gas engines. 3000 and 4000 series. I had a JD 4020 gas I used for years on the TMR wagon. When the oxygenated fuels it became a night mare to keep it running. I overhauled it and even went back in and tried higher compression pistons. It still would not run right. It did with the older fuels but not the newer stuff.
