IMHO - apparently there's a lot of $$$'s in farming. How much profit - well......
In my neck of the woods, farms ain't all that large - to many mountains hemming in the fields. Yet, the dealer lots (regardless of color) are loaded with large 4x4 tractors with loaders and cabs.
I bought the second lowest priced JD tractor a couple of years ago - a 5055d. I'm happy as a clam. Small Honda cars cost more than I paid for the tractor - heck a New Holland BC5070 baler costs more than the JD I bought and it don't have a motor - LOL!
I don't sweat it though - to each his own. If you got money to spend - and spend it, good for you.
It's just interesting to me how much tractors and equipment cost - new off the lot. There HAS to be some HEALTHY return on the $$$'s to repay.
