I also injured my shoulder and put off going to doctor. When I finally did go and had a MRI I was informed I had one muscle that had turned to fat and another one that was on it's way. I had a full thickness tear with retraction. Doctor said the shoulder could not be repaired and even a replacement would not help much because of the muscle loss. That was two years ago and today because I used the shoulder to the limit I have very little pain, can lift my arm over my haed and even hammer nails overhead. The doctor said other muscles will learn to help for the ones that are damaged.
