30 years ago I'd have agree with it, calling it a real bad or unlucky accident.
15 years ago I might have said he deserved a year.
But TODAY that should be a MINIMUM five years. Today - you KNOW you're not supposed to be driving drunk. You've had it - and the consequences - drummed into your head since birth. (I don't think it gives the kids age, but he sounds like a kid - talking x-box etc.)
Probation? driving THAT drunk is reason enough to lock him up for SOME time. Driving at 90mph is another reason. KILLING a girl is yet another.
You stack them all together - driving 90mph many times over the limit drunk, and killing a girl... What more does a judge need????
I feel so sorry for her father, I'm not sure what I'd do in his place. But I can say that kid better move to the other side of the country if he knows what's good for him.
