We had 2X6 and 2X8 wooden gates in the barn to sort cattle; none of them ever had enough power to damage a gate. When my brother quit livestock, he took out all the gates and gave them to our nephew, who now has them installed in his pole barn sorting area. Dad designed and built those gates in 1950 when we built the new barn and the gates are still being used.
The original barn built in 1950 has been stripped inside to use as machinery storage.
