The thing is guys that by making it illegal (you should really look up why especially about pot) it made it obscenely profitable. Some estimates run about a billion dollars a day profitable. Low ball estimates places it in the HUNDREDS of MILLIONS a day. That kinda money invites violence to protect it as we have all seen. You can bet the dealers are not reporting it as income and paying taxes either. So we pour billions upon billions a year into fighting it and make no income through either sales or income tax. And people wonder why we are broke as a nation and trillions in debt.
