I have used them in both a 5.4 and a V10 ford. I dont remember how many miles we put on the 5.4 but it was a lot and its still going. The V10 has over 100,000 miles on the insert with about 274,000 on the motor and it is still used daily. I am a big fan of doing things right the first time. I dont think you can go wrong with timesert if it is installed properly.
