I am probably gonna be in their crosshairs. In 1995 I took the bait, and enrolled 14 acres in the creek bottoms in a CRP project. I planted the ground to trees. It is a CRP project for water quality and flood control. This ground is right along the creek. I re-upped the project once, and it is coming up soon for renewal again. I get about $1400 a year to let it grow up in trees. They are about 30' tall now.
I might as well re-up it I guess. So far they have never told me what to do with it, left me alone. There is a another 14 acre field down there I take hay off of, but I am not planning on doing any row cropping there due to the flood risk.
Not sure what else they could make me do, or not do.
