I have a Royall wood/coal boiler in the shop. It heats the whole house and full walkin celler plus the shop very nicely. Back in 1992 I tore out our old forced air system and designed and installed a whole house radiant floor heating system. Five years ago, I took the Royall boiler out of my dads house after he died, and installed it in my shop and hooked it to my radiant system, along with a solar hot water system which supplies our domestic hot water also. We haven't burned a drop of heating oil in 5 years. There is a unit heater suspended between the overhead doors in the shop which I turn on during the days. The boiler puts off some ambient heat, and once I have the floor and all the steel warmed up in the shop, the temp remains very constant. Loren
