John Deere "day" was a yearly occurance in Jonesville, Michigan where I went to high school and from about the 6th grade on (1946-1952) all the farm boys got excused to go to it. It was held at the movie theater about 1 1/2 blocks from school. Great time in those days. International Harvester put on a good evening show, in February 1947 I believe it was, at the high school gym in North Adams where the local IH dealership was. I'll always remember the introduction of the new Cub and C models along with the info on their crawlers and logging equipment besides all the H and M stuff. After the movie there was a "Country Boy Comedian" who put on a pretty good act that brought a lot of laughs from everyone. It was about 4 above zero that night and our old '38 Buick just barely started to go home...6 volt batteries didn't have much "reserve punch", but Thank God we made it home okay....
