I posted here a few days ago about my 99 5.7 Tahoe that started and idled but did not go into gear, and engine would not spool up with accelerator application. AllanNE said to change the tranny filter. I checked the fluid level hot and cold , it was perfect. The fluid was clear and smelled good. But what the hay? I did some reading on some Chev/Tahoe forums. Seems like filter probs on that model are frequent. Many advising ANNUAL change. Got the pan off and pulled the filter. Hung it on a peg. Almost nothing ran out. Some kind of obstruction. New Wix filter and 5 qts fluid. Lets hope this seals the deal. Thanks Allen.
