I had it once. It usually effects a "nerve trunk system" (for better lack of a term). Different for everyone. Mine was in my left upper shoulder area. The antiviral meds are critical as fast as possible. Had to sleep upright for a week before things started to calm down. Reasonable after that if the area wasn't touched. The damaged nerve area in my back took about a year to heal (numbness spot kept getting slowly but surely smaller).
