That was a big problem when I worked for Central Tractor many years ago. Also, people thought because their own salary was higher than anybody's at the store that hold meant indefinitely. People would call with the "promise" of being down before the end of the day or by the end of the weekend and never follow through. They would be along three weeks after the fact and indignant that the item was long gone. Company management did not help either as people ABUSED the complaint line when their unreasonable requests were not met. People never understood that we were actually trying to make a profit versus being a day care not for profit organization.
