Almost forgot. Yes, the NRA raises money left and right, but no matter how much they raise, it will never be enough.

This is due to them trying to fight multiple new gun laws being brought on, on multiple fronts. Not to mention defending people accused of a crime for inadvertently breaking one of those insane laws. Recently there have been several individuals locked up in places with extreme laws, such as New Jersey. One of them was for doing something as simple as driving through the area, on the interstate, and having the bad luck to be stopped for something trivial. When the lady (mother of a couple of young kids) notified the officer of her concealed handgun (as required by law in most states) she becoming a defacto criminal because she happen to have a gun locked up I her car....which was perfectly legal in the state she lived in, and had just left on her way to where ever she was going. Defending her cost money. When the families of a group of shooting victims decided to sue everyone from the gun maker, to the folks that made the bullets, the NRA played a role in that situation too.

They are constantly fighting for our rights, but they can't be EVERYWHERE, all the time. However with more money, they can get more resources, and be in more places their services are needed.

Don't fool yourself if you think even your hunting guns are safe. The end game of the anti-gunners is to kill gun owners via a death by a thousand cuts. A 'common sense' law here, another there, and ultimately because your bolt action Mauser was actually based on a military design, it's now considered an assault rifle and therefore prohibited. Then the Ruger 10/22 you got as a kid, or your Mini14 varmint rifle, that were loosely based on an M14, are both now illegal. Then its your shotgun, then your son's BB gun. Don't believe it can happen, just look at other countries who's people were complacent and didn't fight back when their rights were stripped from them. Can't remember where it is, but in one country even BB guns are tightly controlled...SO IT CAN AND DOES HAPPEN ALL THE TIME

Right now the NRA has between 4 and 5 million members, and it's considered the 1000lb Gorilla in the room when it comes to gun legislation. We, and I say that because I am working on a life membership, are spending our money to insure not only our rights, but also your rights, and the rights of future generations. If everyone that owned a gun would join, our number would grow exponentially. In 2014 the estimated gun ownership in the US was at 34% according to one source I found. Now the estimated population in 2014 was 318.86 billion. Take 34% of that number, and there would be an estimated 108.4124 BILLION gun owners in the US.

Now, I understand these numbers may be off here or there, depending on the sources. That aside the numbers are staggering even if they are all off by a BILLION or two. So, please explain to me why the NRA shouldn't be continually asking for money when there are only 4 to 5 million of us fighting for the rights of 108 BILLION others that just "own guns"????

Does it make sense when explained that way?????
