One thing for sure on the dual coil (pull-in/hold-in) solenoids, which I fully expect this one to be, is that which ever large post has no continuity (isolated terminal) to any other terminal or ground (with no cables or wires connected) is the one that must have battery connected to it. The other big terminal will have continuity to the small terminal in this dual coil type of solenoid.
