Pail traps are standard procedure for seasonal camps and such--take a two-liter bottle with the cap still on, drill holes through the center of the cap and the bottom of the bottle, thread it on a wire, string the wire across the top of a 5-gallon pail, smear it with peanut butter, fill the pail half-full of water (anti-freeze also works and lasts longer) and prop a board from the floor to the edge of the pail by the wire. Mice leap for the peanut butter, the bottle spins, and they fall in the water. Effective, self-resetting, easy to clean, and good for weeks or months. Lots of alternative ways of doing it, but those are the basics.
