When we moved into the farm house about 15 years ago, I started to plow the driveway (gratis) for the old guy next door- he had Shingles so bad he could hardly move. His son, now 75, moved in with his dad the last few years to help out, and has stayed in the house. He has also taken in a disturbed gentleman who was previously homeless to live in the attic. Two winters ago, right toward the end of the snow season, I plowed about two inches one afternoon. The gentleman came out rather rapidly and informed me quite colorfully that I had just plowed up the bird seed he had scattered in the fresh snow, then questioned my competence and lineage. I told the neighbor I was done plowing. He called after the first heavy snow last Fall and asked if I could plow- I suggested the attic dweller and his birds should get some shovels.
