Employee attrition is worse than shoplifting as I understand. Then there are the customers who will buy a battery power tool set to use on a small project. When the project is done they box it back up and return it as defective. The ones who shoplift an item and then return it for a refund have guts but no morals.
Awhile back I was at Menards looking for some electrical supplies. The guy helping me find what I needed had no patience and treated me like a second class citizen. When every item was found he hurried off and as soon as he was gone a lady employee came up to me and tried to smooth things over. I have never seen that guy there again so he must have received the boot treatment.
