The whole TV thing is in a downward spiral. The broadcasters keep adding in more commercials to make more money to make up for the loss of viewers because of the commercials. So, they add more commercials to compensate for the loss of even more viewers, which causes them to lose even more viewers. I expect that sooner or later it will all reach a tipping point, and broadcast TV will simply fade away. As it is going, pay TV is on a downward spiral as well. They all want more and more money, but where will it come from if the turn away the viewers?? Even PBS is getting bad. They are now almost continually fund raising. I do watch some of their stuff, as they do have better programming than commercial TV, but the fund raising is turning folks off.
