Well I watched regular broad cast TV for about a half an hour. LOL That was all I could take. Five minutes of what I wanted to watch and 25 minutes of commercials and junk. What show was I interested in?? America's Got Talent. I like watching it and Britain's Got Talent. I watch the performers/acts on YouTube. That way I can watch it when I want and miss all the commercials. The Two hour show will have about an hour of actual auditions/performances and then the rest is commercials an Hosts talking to hear them selves talk. LOL

Well it maybe another 5-10 years and I might watch it again. LOL

PS. Funny thing. The wife nor I could get the TV in the family room to come on regular TV. LOL I had to call my son and he had to asked my 8 year old grand son how to get it to regular the TV stations. My Grandsons watch it when they are here. They watch Netflix which is through the Internet so the TV was set up that way. You have to change it to regular TV. Then you add in that the Tuner on this TV quit working and we are using a digital converter feeding the TV like it is hooked to cable. Long story short it takes TWO different remotes to switch it around. TOO MUCH trouble for me to be bored by endless commercials and talking heads. LOL So BACK to my computer and the Internet. I am posting on YT and reading a book on another site I pay for that has great Sci-Fi stories.

you dont want to miss call me Kait,,,its on the E channel,,,,a whole show with kait Jenner,,,who used to be Bruce,,,,,that will make you turn off the tv real quick,,,,lol

I am not surprised that you don't watch much tv. I am surprised that you read Sfy!

Btw, I saw a Lanz in the post from Germany, did Deere buy out Lanz? I think so, but you being a Deere guy would know.

Spook JD bought Lanz in 1956. As for reading SciFI. I just also read a lot of history stuff. I always read at least several hours each day. That is my relaxation of my mind.

I thought it was during the 50's. One tractor that surprised me was the Minni-Mo from France! I never thought that Minnie Mo ever got that far in distribution.

One of the Lanz tractors that was interesting was the narrow body one. Looks better for cultivating than a Farmall A.

I was gonna guess something else!

I watch the 6pm news, then world news, jeopardy, and wheel of fortune, especially if I'm in from work in time. Usually that's the winter when it gets dark at 4 though. Summer I'm lucky if I make it in for jeopardy.

Bruce I can well understand that. A few years ago I started to hear about the Kardashians. I did not know who/what they were. The only thing that came to mind to me about the Kardashian name was it was a warring species on Star Trek I think. LOL

When the Grand Kids out grow staying with us I will more than likely junk the current TV and not replace it.

Mrs 730 likes America Got Talent most of the stuff we watch is on the dish.
still get a lot of junk .
we have it so you can record a program and watch it later so miss lots of the bs

I thought the same thing about Duck Dynasty.......I turned it on expecting Daffy Duck LOL...I was disappointed.

We had regular TV for a little while when the kids were still home in high school, didn't take long to wonder why, haven't had it for many years now.

I like to watch AGT also. Some of the acts I don't see how they would make a LasVegas show out of them. I got a kick out of the guy with the ladder. That's talent.

I can't remember the last time I watched anything on regular channels (ABC,NBC,CBS). On the rare occasions I DO turn on the TV, I hit about 5 movie channels to see if there is anything on. Last nite, TCM(?) had an OLD special on the making of Gone With The Wind. Now THAT was interesting. Didn't realize all the behind the scenes drama with the producer and the way they shot all the scenes and added special effects by painting on glass. It took a year to edit and they had to cut down from 500,000 ft of film to 20,000. Anyway, just caught about 30 minutes of it before off to bed. To me, TV is a wasteland.

What gets me is all the people that have cable/dish.
I cant stand the ALL the commercials on free TV much less to pay to not watch them.
Even the 30 minute news programs have gone from 20-25 minutes of news to only about 15 minutes.

The whole TV thing is in a downward spiral. The broadcasters keep adding in more commercials to make more money to make up for the loss of viewers because of the commercials. So, they add more commercials to compensate for the loss of even more viewers, which causes them to lose even more viewers.
I expect that sooner or later it will all reach a tipping point, and broadcast TV will simply fade away. As it is going, pay TV is on a downward spiral as well. They all want more and more money, but where will it come from if the turn away the viewers??
Even PBS is getting bad. They are now almost continually fund raising. I do watch some of their stuff, as they do have better programming than commercial TV, but the fund raising is turning folks off.

Because of grandkids I have 2 TV's in the house neither one hooked up to anything more than a DVD player and the internet for Netflicks. I looked at getting cable this spring before I had my knee replaced but to get any kind of package was over $100 a month. For a bunch of junk I didn't want to watch in the first place. What I don't understand is why, in this day and age of technology, I can't go in and say I want this this and this. No I have to buy a package with 50 channels of junk I don't want to get a few channels I do want. Not going to happen anytime real soon. Now I guess HBO is going to offer streaming on the internet too. That makes buying a package even less attractive. I do watch a lot of history stuff on YouTube.

We tape shows that we want to watch like that then we can ff through the commercials

tv....We watch dvd movies or movies on netflix, no regular tv, no news.
I do try a show once in a while, but I am a year behind y'all.
on DVD seasons only.
Conversation...something interesting, I might google it (no news so I don't have a clue)
Grandson over...supper..pizza...too lazy to put a dvd in, switched to regular tv...surfed around..we finished our pizza before I found anything that wasn't a commercial....bah

You can buy a box at Walmart or any box store. It has 4 buttons on it. Hook your satelite or RoKu box to it. When you want to switch from Netflix to regular TV or to satelite,or DVD player, you just push the button dedicated to that service. Around $20.00 if I remember correctly.
