I thought I needed a diesel 4x4 stick shift. Turns out I rarely need the power, although I often use the 4x4, and am wanting an auto.
So, what to do? I am thinking about trading in the truck and getting a gas 3/4 ton 4x4.
How bad is my truck de-valued due it being a stick? Cummins, 6 speed, posi rear end. No great interior package, but not bad either.
I know I'm probably calling on the thunder of truck wars, but if you could, keep this civil.

You should get a premium price for it - I sold my '05 Dodge 2500 SLT 4x4 in January of this year for pretty much the reason you gave and got 2 grand more than what they were listing autos of the same or even newer for. It was on Westslope Craigslist for less than 48 hrs. BUT I could have got another grand, at least, if I was selling it now BUT I didn't sell it 'cause I needed the money; just getting to be time for me to 'cut back' a little. Oh well....TIME, as they say, MARCHES ON'. I've got a 1/2 ton w/gas V/8, 4x4 and an auto tranny, now BUT I still miss 'BIG RED'!
