Inverters run a cooling fan - there will be lots of juice lost to heat in the inverter. Your battery would probably last a day.
I run up to four miles on poly braided hot wire at various times during the year. I can get 7000 volts across the length just like I can out of the AC model that runs here at the home place. Get a 12 volt one. If you don't want to buy a deep cycle battery park a tractor by it for juice and switch out tractors once a week. That's what I do in a pinch.
