And it takes the law out of the hands of the Law makers (who were elected) and the legislated court system, and turns it over to the sheriff and his untrained deputies to decide which laws to enforce in the area. Short sided at best.
Americans are funny...we crave "Law and order"....but want no laws.
I vote for fewer, but more realistic laws...enforced properly.
I see examples of reckless driving everyday...endangering my life...but I can not remember the last time I saw someone stopped for running a red light, weaving across lanes, passing on the inside, tailgating?
