Two of the engines that I tested with coolant strips yesterday tested very low in nitrates. The low level recommended I put a nitrate additive in it. The pH and freeze temp were good.
One was a gas and one was diesel. I have no idea if the diesel is a cavitation concern - it's an Onan built whole farm generator. I don't know if it is wet sleeve or not and am not sure I could find out. I called Cummins Onan about something else on it and they acted like it was from another planet.
