Randy, I dont know if this will help, but will throw it out here anyways.
When the ignition on my Yamaha golf cart was giving me an issue, I traced it to the CDI module. In all my searching, there were a few people that had figured out how to make a "universal" CDI module work. They had taken the time to figure out the pin-out on the wiring diagrams and adapt to their machine.
I ended up going with an OEM Yamaha CDI box because at the time it wasnt that much more $$. I attached the link if you are interested. Might help your search a little. Or google "yahama G1 CDI box, buggies unlimited"
