It seems plate planter technology has been around a long time, nearly a century and was virtually unchanged at that. Can anybody remember, what was the first year for each of the major equipment manufacturers departure from plate technology? For example, J.I.Case opted to quit planters entirely in the early 70s. When did John Deere introduce the finger pickup? When did IH introduce the Cyclo air planters? What did the other companies come up with? White?, Massey?, Ford?, Allis?, etc.
