Coworker approached me a few months ago about buying some excess horse hay he and his wife had. I asked him to wait until I had the elevator set up, so it could go right in the loft, no problems. How many and how much, I ask- 30-40 bales probably, and a couple of bucks each.
Our last day off, I asked if this would be a good time, he said perfect, they were set to clean the barn out. I run down about 15 miles to his place, she pulls the bales from a pile, he carries them to me and I stack. Looks like more than 30 bales, with the four that had no strings thanks to the goats, I put 57 bales on my truck- decent looking grassy stuff, still green, no mold, etc.
I get it tied down, and I say" So now that we have it loaded up, how much do you want?"
She says" Looks like hay is going for $4 a bale on Craigslist, so that's what I want."
